Abby Kelley is a Chicago real estate broker with @properties and co-founder of Dwell Wisely Group. Her approach is rooted in a simple belief: you should never feel like you are being dragged through one of the biggest financial decisions of your life. That philosophy began with Abby’s own first home purchase at just 22 years old—in 2008, of all years. Like many first-time buyers, she went through the process without fully understanding what was happening, why certain decisions mattered, or what was coming next. That experience shaped the way she works with clients today. Whether buying or selling, Abby wants her clients to feel informed, prepared, and in control. She explains the process, provides context for her recommendations, anticipates what comes next, and gives clients the information they need to make confident decisions. Her role is not to pressure someone into a transaction. It is to be the experienced guide, strategist, and advocate beside them. Before becoming a residential broker, Abby worked in mortgage lending and served as director of sales and marketing for a boutique Chicago real estate firm. She holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing with an emphasis in real estate from Wichita State University. Her experience across lending, marketing, sales, and brokerage allows her to analyze market conditions, property values, financing, and the details that can affect a transaction—then translate that complexity into practical guidance. Abby also brings firsthand experience as a homeowner and renovator. She has purchased and extensively renovated two Chicago homes: a condo in Bucktown and a single-family home in Lincoln Park. That perspective helps her evaluate properties beyond their finishes, including condition, renovation potential, costs, and trade-offs. For buyers, Abby’s guidance often begins well before the first showing. She helps clients understand financing, neighborhoods, market conditions, offer strategy, inspections, attorney review, appraisal, and what it takes to compete—without pressuring them to move before they are ready. For sellers, Abby brings the same thoughtful approach to pricing, preparation, staging, marketing, showings, offer strategy, and negotiations. Her clients understand not only what is happening throughout their sale, but why it matters. Abby serves buyers and sellers throughout Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. Her goal is not simply to complete a transaction, but to ensure her clients understand their decisions, feel confident making them, and always know what comes next.
