Fun facts: Laena’s personal history has been rooted in Northern California for several generations. Her ancestors came West traveling by wagon-train in the late 1860’s and settled in Sonoma. More than half a century later her grandparents fell in love on the ferry from San Francisco to study at UC Berkeley.

Achieving both a Bachelor and Master of Fine Arts degree, Laena was also awarded a prestigious Postdoctoral Rockefeller Fellowship. As a professor, she taught at Duke University, the University of San Francisco, and UNC, Chapel Hill. In addition, she has two decades of experience in the diamond trade, buying, selling, consulting, and managing millions of dollars of inventory. It is an industry based on trustworthiness and the ability to negotiate; she now engages these core values with her real estate clients.
