Robin bought her first Victorian in the Mission at 27 and never looked back. She has worked on the gold leaf gilding of City Hall's dome, hung Bradbury & Bradbury wallpaper, and gutted Victorians down to the studs and rebuilt them more original than the original. She also worked with David Best on five Temples at Burning Man. She has bought, restored and sold (and sometimes kept!) almost two dozen vintage buildings, from the Mission to Old Town Napa, plus a five-acre ranch on fabled Green Valley Road. She knows the city's byzantine permit process cold. Robin has the resources. Before real estate, she had a small design firm Whiteside McGraw and clients like Levi Strauss and Apple. She designed books for Chronicle Books, where she designed City Historian Gladys Hansen's SF Almanac. Gladys gave her a lifelong love of the architectural gems that dot this vibrant city. She's also a mother of five and a private pilot who competed in the Reno Air Races, so negotiating a bidding war doesn't rattle her. Robin and her wife raised their family in San Francisco, putting every kid through the public schools. She knows the neighborhoods from Russian Hill to Noe Valley, Potrero and the Mission, block by block. Buyers get someone who has opened enough walls to know what's behind them. Sellers get someone who has sold enough houses to know which repairs are worth making before the buyers show up. "I've made every mistake an old house can talk you into," Robin says. "My job is to make sure you don't." Robin's clients tend to find her the old-fashioned way, through other client referrals. She'll happily talk your ear off about radiant heating, wainscoting, and Judy Garland, but your privacy is never part of her marketing. Every high profile transaction is handled with discretion.
