Fun facts: I believe that homeownership is an essential component in building wealth. My prior professional experience as an attorney, accountant and banking executive gives me a unique foundation of skills which I use to help buyers and sellers navigate the real estate process.

Born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, William "Bill" Bates has been intrigued by real estate since he watched a vacant lot next door to his childhood home be transformed into a multi-unit apartment building. He believes that homeownership and investing in real estate are essential components in building wealth. Bill’s prior professional experience as an attorney, accountant and banking executive gives him a unique foundation of skills which he uses to help buyers and sellers navigate the real estate process. Bill is committed to using his experience and good judgment to provide advice and counsel to help his clients make stellar decisions about buying and selling real estate. Bill’s lifelong commitment to learning has resulted in a BA from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (1974), MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business (1976), and a Juris Doctorate (JD) from The John Marshall Law School (now known as University of Illinois Chicago School of Law) (1989). He has used his academic knowledge in a professional career that has spanned 45 years in a variety of roles that have included being an Auditor for a public accounting firm; Senior Executive, General Counsel, and Board member for the former Seaway Bank and Trust Company; Adjunct Professor at Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University; Real Estate Investor; Real Estate Attorney; and Tax Advisor. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Bill has a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to values such as honesty and loyalty. Since 2018, Bill has been proudly affiliated with EXIT Strategy Realty, a powerhouse real estate brokerage renowned for consumer education and events across the city of Chicago and suburbs.
